Do Expats from USA still pay State Tax?

How do Expats from the USA handle state taxes? It doesn't seem that we should pay them as not living in the USA. Kindly share your experience.

No. But California is notorious for coming after you. We moved from California to Panama and just established residency in Florida, a no state income tax state. Problem solved. But you have to cut ALL ties to the taxed state!! Bank accounts, properties, driver's license, etc...

If you have income from the US such as SS, retirement, investments, etc then yes, you have to pay taxes. The IRS won't give up on you that easily   🙄
