Can I have cigars shipped into Vietnam?

alnaz

Hello,

I wonder if anyone has tried having cigars shipped from US, Europe or other countries in Asia into Vietnam?

If it is possible do you know the limit and duty charges?

Thanks in advance,

Al

before you try to get the answer to that consider the fact that you can already get cigars from around the world here, even those that are embargoed in places such as the United States

No, you cannot legally have tobacco products shipped to Vietnam without an import license.  When I was living there I couldn't get smokeless tobacco anywhere.  I used to have my salesman at our company ship me some whenever he sent a small package or sample from our company but we didn't disclose it.  Most of the time it got through but when they did check they would reject the shipment and it was sent back to the US.

So even if you pay the tax/duty you cant get it shipped in?

@OceanBeach92107 it’s usually cheaper to have them shipped than buy local. Even with the 50% tax on shipped cigars, it was cheaper to buy from abroad than buy from a shop in Shanghi. i’m hoping for a similar outcome in vietnam.
