Although we are highlighting differences over time, it is interesting that Piaggio has kept it basic Vespa (Wasp) design basically intact since 1945.  Interestingly, as many of you may know, the small wheels were originally leftover tail wheels from "tail dragger" style aircraft produced for the Italian military during WWII.
