Hello everyone
my name is Ken
I guess I’m a newbie
i did make a couple of posts a while back
I'm 72 and planing to retire in the cebu area
im a US Marine vet I have been doing a lot of research for several months now and been on several dateing sites talked to and text to many ladies and those og you that been there no that its a full time job keeping up and weeding out its no easy
but i believe its better to find someone before i travel there rather then waiting till
i get there and finding some one
I realize there no guarantees how you do it
So I’m planing on going there ( Cebu) in March 24
for 30 days to look around and set my self up for a final retirement trip
I have met someone on line that i really like and i belive she feels the same but hard to tell ober so many miles away she could be a great catch seems like it but is she
worth a $4000.00 plane trip to find out ??
so ok here is my question Do you know of any English speaking xpats that is are maried or dating a
filipino woman and live in Cebu Lahug area that would be willing to meet this lady and kind of ckeck her out and see is she is for real and just not some pen pal
person red light district babe etc
she said she would be willing to meet up with someone
i would ofcorse tell you all about both of us in detail
and sent you some photos etc
some how don't think im the fist person to want this kind of service
maybe I'm up to something that could be a new kind of
private detective service
please let me know if you know any couple interested
thanks
Ken
@kbustin
Please don't let the ladies read your post.
Brutal and blunt as always I am so don't take offence, but and but? At 72 you are asking other people (unknown) to vet your prospectives? Insecurities? So when it all goes to sh1t you have others to blame?
Slowly slowly the wheels turn, no rush.
You say you are coming to Cebu for a month in preparation for your retirement, Ladies you can meet in person while there, for me the focus would be Cebu and the environs for your retirement, the ladies are a bonus especially when you find the right one,,,,,, takes time and only you can/will be the judge.
As I always say boots on the ground and get your hands dirty, taste the culture and flavours. The Philippines is not for everyone.
Good luck and OMO.
Cheers, Steve.

Ask yourself why would a Filipina be interested in an Old Goat?
.
You've been on many dating sites and the best liars, deceivers and scammers come through loud and clear.
.
For $4,000 you could spend your money on (40) $100 hookers where you live.
Instead of Weeding them out, better to smoke that weed.
As said Bob the ladies come after settling. Find a nice place to live then search for crumpet, in the mean time if you find a nice lady before moving here then well done and perhaps it won't be Cebu, may haps Manila or Zamboanga and you won't need to ask expats to rub you on the back.
OMO.
Cheers, Steve
Hello everyone,

@Enzyte Bob
thanks for the reply im moving to cebu to retire not for sex just want to find a nice lady to settle down with
I see 65 -75 year old guys retired there with younger ladies
if i just wanted sex i would not made such a post
@bigpear
i bet you there meny guys like me on philpino dating sites looking for a lady to meet when they get there
Very hard to do from a far away land like the USA
so i do belive to have a local vouple meet and vet the lady woud be tje next best thing possible without being there oneself
Couple the veter would only meet them as a friendly get together and have a chat
and report back their thoughts about the lady
No guarantees no promises no regrets
A lot can be learned buy a formal meet with a couple the speaks both languages
im suprised no one is doing this already
i think it a smart thing to do and a very helpfull tool for the guy looking for a good lady

Sorry mate, re read your post, and you ask for other expats to vet a prospective lady? Twas an interesting post but smacks of insecurities. No need to say more.
Cheers, Steve.

Call Jim Rockford. $200 per day plus expenses (that will of course include airfare)
Call a head shrink, 200 bucks an hour, a half hour visit will work. As said get your self here and find out for yourself instead of hanging out dirty laundry for others to clean and collect.
As said @ 72 you should know better.
When I hit 72 I'll be looking for a personal carer.
OMO.
Cheers, Steve.
To the OP.
I met my better half here 13 years ago, I was 51, he was 21 and still together, beauty for me is that in Australia he was cert 4 aged care, a keeper in more ways than one. I got my hands dirty and lived with him for a year in Manila, not looked back.
Get your ass here and see, don't be relying on people you don't know especially to vet a potential nice lady, do it yourself.
Cheers, Steve.

Angeles City Expenses
If I was worried about spending 4K on air fares then perhaps the Philippines is too far? My budget is too thin?Seems to be several sides to the OP/s. Aside from airfares wanting to employ Columbo and his lady that we never met to vet some insecurities but already decided for some reason that Cebu is the place to be, just an ask to the OP have you ever been here? Why Cebu?
Cheers, Steve.

I would normally recommend Frank Cannon for this sort of work but probably be best to leave it to Jim this time because Frank would need to pay for a whole row of seats to accommodate his bulk and therefore his expenses would be a lot more. Mind you, I guess the airline would need to find another big guy to sit in the seats opposite just to even out the distribution of weight and prevent the aircraft from tilting to one side.
I am sure if Martin Brody was boarding a flight and saw Frank Cannon boarding he may repeat his famous line from JAWS but substituting the word boat for plane.
Detective work is not new here. We had a member a few months back who kept informing us that he did that sort of thing. He said he used to follow women around for Ex Pats to see if they were up to no good and that most of them he folllowed had another bloke. He did not last long on the site and I never really believed most of the crap he was pedalling.
One of the bloggers did a video about a bloke in a similar situation to yourself. The guy asked a friend to meet with the girl he was chatting to online since his friend was already in the Philippines on a permanent basis and guess what happened? The friend met the girl, fell for her and solved the problem for him so no more LDR. So if you are thinking of doing this you are either very cautious, have your suspicions already or you have heard stories from others.
I have visited several times to meet a woman and each time I did so, it worked out well while I was there but all the relationships did eventually fail for a variety of reasons. Now if you are planning to retire in Cebu just because this lady lives there, I would think twice and like others have said, it is probably best to get your stuff sorted out, explore different places and make the move before chasing women.
However - If you go there, explore your options, visit other locations and see for yourself what the Philippines is all about and if it is suitable for you and you combine that with seeing this woman, it may work for you. Just focus more on your own future and your move.

Is there no loyalty programme with these hookers Bob? - Buy 9 get one free.
I wouldnt trust anyone else to judge my presumtive wife
If you dont find her good when you visit, there are others.
E g I am friend with a kind, smart woman, who work in Cebu city, not suiting each other because I am not religious and I believe she want religious husband.
I wouldnt chose Metro Cebu CITY, but there are other nice locations at Cebu island e g parts of Toledo.
There must be coulpe in cebu near La hug
that speaks filipino and englishwho is willing to meet up with a filipino lady whom i am on a dateing site talking daily to just give me your option on her overall character
No different than bringing a lady home to meet the family and getting there
opinion
@kbustin
Late reply but I see no other responses for 11 days, does that tell or say something? The guys here have heard the story/s before? Many times? Like you want your mother to vet a lady that you never met? before retiring here? Based on an air ticket and a potential lady?
Being honest in your OP you said you want to/planning to retire in Cebu Philippines, looking for a vetted prospective but I ask have you ever been to the Philippines? This is not Kansas Dorothy.
You need to visit, spend time here and the ladies will come easier if you are here but the reality given what you say the Philippines is not for the feint hearted, finding a nice lady more so and really if you are worried about the cost of a simple return flight?
Sorry to seem harsh and OMO.
Cheers, Steve.
My point is that
Yes and just to add to Steve's post. If you do set foot in the country don't wear the t-shirt that says:
' I'm the new guy in town'

Yep. He says he doesn't want just sex, but it sounds a lot like he's going to get screwed.
Old guy - Younger, dating site woman.
The chances of her being a gold digger, or a gold digging prostitute looking for easier money are way too high.
Meet women in supermarkets, at social events, or wherever, but not on the internet.
The bulge in your trousers is likely to be her motivation, and it isn't your wedding kit I'm talking about.
Let us see what the OP has to say if he ever comes back Fred, easy come easy go.
Cheers, Steve.

Hi Ken,
I am Robert 71 years old and I was living 30 years in Singapore with my philipina wife, 25 years married happily. We are living now in Laguna and Cebu for retirement since Jan 2022.
Be careful with online dating, better come over to cebu and look around your self and you will be successful if you looking for women 40plus. If you have any question please to not hesitate to ask! No worries, philippines is a great place to retire.
