Hi and welcome to the Forum.

There are regular sailings between US East Coast ports and the UK, Liverpool which is pretty close to Manchester, is one of the stops.  How much it will cost you depends very much on how big your car is and how you decide to ship it, i.e. in an ISO container or RORO on the vehicle deck of one of the ships.  A quick Google search brought up this link; they will be one of many agents offering this service.

So, it's doable, but is it sensible?  Driving on the left in a left-hand drive car is challenging; it's doable, I did it for a couple of years, but it makes driving more difficult especially when overtaking.  If you're a car enthusiast, the UK tends to be more aimed at the European marketplace, you won't find the same kind of high street support you are used to back home.  That said, it's doable, there are plenty of online sales, and the only issue really is the freight and UK tax charges, if you have the money, it's not a worry.  Things like an exhaust on a RHD car because the steering column and box are on the right-hand side, run down the opposite side of the car to a LHD, so it bends the opposite way, so things affected by this (hoses are another example) have to be imported.  Headlights, unless yours is a modern car where you can alter the dip angle of the headlights from within the car setting screen, you will need to consider that you will have to replace your headlights before the car will pass its statutory inspection (MOT).

I wish you the best of luck.
