@rijoshi1230 ask away, I will try my best to answer you. I worked as an internal auditor in Kuwait for over a decade, and i audited HR quite a few times :)

@legacy hi, I just logged in again here on my account.

I would like to ask for your advise on this matter.

I'm going to finish my 2 year contract here in Kuwait and would like to apply as a local hire. When I asked my HR about it she told me I have to work for a total of 3 yrs. before I can go for local hiring.

Is it true? can't I just finish my contract and do local application.

if you have a university degree, they cannot hold you and you can transfer after one year; depending on the place you work. for example, a new law came out that people who work in factories cannot transfer except to other factories.

so it entirely depends on what you do for a living, and whether you have a university degree that you got translated, attested and notarized in Kuwait when you first made your residency.

@legacy thank you so much for answering.

I tried to ask our HR about it but they said I should do 3 yrs.

I work in a hotel and I have a degree 😅 but I'm still planning to resign after my 2 yr. contract. I'm now trying to apply to some vacancies 😅😅
