Hi,

My child's indian passport is not having surname (it is blank). And now I want to add my husband's name as the child's surname in indianembassy . Is there anything I need to provide as proof apart from child's birth certificate and our marriage certificate ? And anyone have seen such case?

Thanks!

Edigj

Not sure if this has to do with Belgium.

Perhaps you would get better advice in the Indian forum as it concerns Indian law.

Rule of thumb in Belgium newborn by default with get the surname of father but parents can aslo choose if they would like the mother's surname or both. Then you can take the birth certeficate and register in whatever other country you are national or live in.
