Best International Shipping Options?

auburnallycelucas

Hey everyone. I ship many materials from the US to the DR for my company. The latest shipment through CPS was 30lbs and costs almost 10,000 DOP. I have also tried Vimenpaq. Does anyone have suggestions for more affordable shipping companies? If you have the shipments come by boat, what companies are reputable and how long does it usually take?

I seem to recall another forum topic within the last month that referred to business shipping from USA to DR duty free if your legally registered

Spend some time searching, or perhaps a poster from that thread can jump in

My understanding that is about 5.83  a lbs and the average rate is 5.00 a pound. If they have been dependable in the past,  would you risk your materials for .83 cents per pound? I am not saying don't do it I am saying weigh (no pun intended) your options.

For larger purchases that becomes a great deal of money.

@@auburnallycelucas.  It would help if you provide your general location in the US.

I had to ship something from the states about 13lbs and cost me $140. It took about 4 days. I had used Fedex, but prices from UPS and DHL but they were almost double the cost.

No issues with customs.

@auburnallycelucas I ship with Traino Express. They charge about $5 a pound, which would have saved you some.

With luck, someone will know of a reshipper with lower fees for heavy items.
