Where to start learning Egyptian Arabic?

mateuskellys

Hi,

My name is Mateus from France and I'm looking to relocate to Egypt in May of 2024.

I am 28 years old and was invited to work for an international company located in Cairo.

Luckily, I also have contacts who work at an embassy (they still have limited knowledge of Egyptian Arabic however).

According to my own research and what I was recommend from my contacts I should follow a course (through Udemy or other channels, most are free resources on YouTube but they don't go into detail unfortunately).

Some courses are taught by Egyptians and others by foreigners (that second option interests me the most).

Is there anyone else who has experience with relocating to Egypt and specifically dealt with learning Egyptian Arabic in advance or locally?

Are courses the best way to go or should I consider getting a teacher?

I appreciate all your answers,

Thank you!

Mat
