If you buy a car as an expat it is not duty free.


If you bring in a car with you under MM2H you do not pay duty.

In 2008 I bought a new Nissan X-Trail under MM2H and it was duty free but that was a long time ago. I paid around RM91k instead if Rm145k or whatever was the normal price. I have no idea if that rule still applies or not. Anyway,  you can make that enquiry with any MM2H agent or just check it online.
