Employment tip

Toon

Why is it, so many business take short cuts in not paying their employees social that results in their employees or past employees unable to get the benefits they are entitled to, such as GESY, Maternity or Off Season Cover.

Not good for the employees or the legit businesses that do pay, as the long term impact means higher taxes!

Not only do they pay low salaries but cheat their employees & the Cypriot government. Though these companies will get fined and forced to pay (REPORT to Social & get a lawyer on the case), it is the employee that suffers in the short term. They will eventually get the benefit they are entitled to, but how can they then pay rent, utilities or feed themselves and their families in the short term?

BEST ADVICE -

*DO REGULAR CHECKS (EVERY 3 MONTHS) TO ENSURE YOUR EMPLOYER IS PAYING

*DEMAND YOUR SLIPS AND PROOF OF SOCIAL PAYMENT WITH YOUR PAY SLIPS!
