Good morning

Hope all is doing well. I’m getting ready to close on a condo in Caberette and wandered if you know of anyone selling their funishings, I’m finding that furniture is so expensive in the Puerta Plata area.

Thanks!

Prices are more expensive in tourist areas. For better choice and price go to Santiago or Santo Domingo

Starting to shop for furniture.  For bedrooms, to keep costs down, considering Ikea furniture.  If you have had personal experience here with Ikea furniture, how has it held up considering the climate.  Hearing many suggesting it, yet others discouraging it.  Any personal, direct insight would be great!

Ikea furniture is fine - but instructions are brutal for Dominicans assembling.  And be careful if you have cleaners or staff as they love to use lots. Of water and that is an absolute no no with idea furniture.

Ikea will deliver if you order enough at one time and offer assembly!

any suggestions on what type of wood does well with water? Bamboo? Local furniture shops?

planner

Wood that is gard and or treated. Bamboo soaks it up. Ikea is mostly pressed wood.
