Denied Entry

Hi,

I worked before in Sg last 2019. And resigned from the company after 6 months due to some valid reasons. I went to Thailand 2 times then I go back to sg 2 times too. For the 3rd time (Feb 2020), they stopped me in the immigration and said i am ineligible to enter Sg. I applied Student visa and was approved last 2022. But when i was in Sg immigration, they stopped me again and ask me lots of questions. My student visa was approved by ICA. I ask them why but they didn’t say anything. Now I want to go back to Sg to collect all my remaining things. Does anyone here knows how long it will take for them to lift up the ban? It’s been 4 years now. Or does anyone here knows the website to make an appeal? I am currently in Germany but I still want to go to Sg in the future.

You did not mention what happened in 2022, after they "asked many questions". Were you denied entry and sent back?

If so, you should contact ICA to clarify whether there is a ban, how long it would last (2022 until now is not 4 years!) and whether anything could be done to lift it earlier.

Once it is cleared, you should still get prior approval by ICA before any trip.

If that does not work, your remaining things can also be sent without you entering Singapore.

Yes, i was denied last 2022 coz they check on the system my name and it was still there.. is it counted? I first denied last 2020.

@Shelly Y. So you were denied entry in 2020 - and again in 2022 although you had a valid student pass?

This is unusual. You must have done something seriously wrong. It could be giving false information when they questioned you, or in your student pass application (did you in those two occasions honestly declare that you were denied entry before?) or you are suspected of illegal work (student pass holders are not allowed to - did you bring enough money to cover your living expenses during the studies?).

Shelly Y.

I’m not into illegal work and yes I declared that i was denied last 2020. I really don’t know too as I was approved by the ICA. I also have enough money to cover all my expenses. Does anyone knows how to send an email, to make an appeal? I really like to go back to Sg even for tourist visa, or in transit visa.

@Shelly Y. The contact details are on ICA's website.
