I qualify for all requirements for the NLV, am requesting advice about these two issues:
- I was surprised that a minor misdemeanor that I was told was completely resolved ( non convicted dismissed with prejudice without conditions ) appears on my background check 23 years later. The state agency that is objecting states because there was a 2 month delay before court, they don't have to expunge the record. Have been told I would have to sue them.
- Would it be most effective to explain briefly the case details and attach it to the background check when submitting my application?
- Should I ask a Spanish immigration lawyer to help me with my application along with the description/explanation serve me well?
- I'd like to apply ASAP, and not have to appeal.
- Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
