Ive been offered a job in Bahrain with salary of 1500 BDo

sharmishthap

The company will sponsor visa for myself and my 5 yo son who will move with me.

I will hv a travelling job  and my husband / in-laws might visit when I’m not around.

what will be the cost for a live in Nanny?

how much do good schools / kindergartens cost ?

Are Indian grocery items easily available ? (Jowar flour, vegetables etc)

how much do maids cost ?

approx cost for Eating out at a good restaurant with a drink ?

watching a movie ?

The office will be on diplomatic street, which is a good location to stay at then?

which are the good schools to consider ?

If we will be a family of 1 adult and 1 child + live in nanny (I have a travelling job) will a salary of 1500 BD be enough? + relatives visiting often

thank you so much in advance and any help is appreciated.

Go through the forum and you will find many threads relating to cost of living and also the questions you have asked. Indian stuff are available widely across all super markets.

@logicalindian thank you so much. i did go through the thread and a few others too. its indeed helpful. however i could not find answers to some of my queries like cost for a live in nanny , good schools to consider and also which is a good area to consider close to diplomatic area for an easy commute.

For the nanny, if you treat them like human and pay them a decent wage, the cost could be between 220 to 250 BD a month.  That is what we pay our Filipina maid - food, groceries, medicines is also covered by us (And she keeps her own passport).  If treatment is not a consideration then I have heard of people paying around 150 or so on.

As far as schools are concerned, none of the best schools are nearby diplomatic area e.g. BSB, St Chris, RVIS etc.   Multinational school, which is ok,  is relatively close (Adliya / Mahooz) area.  You might want to stay near the school and go to diplomatic area...........10/15 min drive max.
