Olive Harvesting -

rebecca42

We have a small olive grove on our property in Crete and are looking to hire people to harvest the olives when the time comes. In the past a family harvested the olives and made olive oil themselves from the olives on the land, but they are no longer able to do it.

Please let me know if you are interested or if you know anyone who is looking for this type of work.

Thank you.

Also, since this will be our first year doing this on our own if anyone has any tips, contacts or general information about olive harvesting and getting olive oil made from olives any information would be appreciated.

Hello, I would recommend that you post an advert/job offer in the Jobs in Greece section of the website.

Please specify in your advert if the offer is meant only for locals or everyone (if you provide visa etc).

I have 9 olive trees in my garden. I harvested the olives myself with the help of a neighbor in 2023. It's hard work! I gave up after the sixth one. Then I went to the local authority press. My olives were added to the harvest of the villagers.  They gave me 1L for 8.5kg of olives, and I didn't pay anything. Given the small quantity, they didn't give me the oil from my olives, but from what everyone in the village had brought in.

Hi Rebecca,

I don't know if it's too late for olive harvesting for this season. My boyfriend and I are looking for a job in Greece.

If you are still looking for people don't hesitate to contact us.
