Spain Digital Nomad Visa

Poorya

Hello, I will be traveling to Spain with a schengen visa and I want to apply for the digital nomad visa.

I meet all the requirements but the only thing I'm concerned about is the accommodation, since I don't want to rent a place for a full year and I prefer living in hostels and traveling around, I wanted to check is there a solution to avoid the accommodation requirement?

If not, I will be asking a friend of mine to declare that I will be staying with them, in this case then I need to apply from the province that my friend is living in?

Thank you for your time.

Many visas do have a Proof of Address requirement, which is usually satisfied with a long-term rental contract. If you have a friend who owns a property, and is happy to provide you with accommodation, then I expect that some kind of letter from them confirming your stay would be acceptable.

However, I don't think the DNV has this requirement. It's certainly not mentioned in the following links. Perhaps you can point me at your page that says it IS needed?

Like other visas, you DO need to provide of Proof of Health Insurance. You can find a bunch of local providers (and cost) via a comparison site such as Rastreator or Acierto. We used ASISA who are good, and among the cheaper options. If you're in Spain to apply for your DNV, then the easiest option is to pop into a nearby insurance broker.

You should also check on the NIE issue, I don't know if you get one with the DNV, or if you need to apply separately for the NIE. Once you have the DNV, there's also a separate step to get your TIE.

Thank you for your response!

In here it mentions Proof of residence in the consular district is required.

Regarding the insurance I am using [link moderated]/ and I have used it for two other visas before so I am hoping i can provide this for the DNV, do you have any information if this is good enough?

From my recollection, the NIE isn't a prerequisite for the DNV, and isn't accommodated by the DNV process (IIRC you will need to request it separately).  It is important to have if you wish to carry out economic activities in Spain, so I would highly suggest sorting that out in parallel as these can take a while to receive.

That proof is not your Spanish address proof. It's a proof that you reside locally and can apply at a particular Spanish consulate.

Your insurance link was moderated. The insurance required has some fairly strict properties, but doesn't necessarily have to be issued in Spain. But for most applications it is.

From my recollection, it must be a proper private health insurance (not holiday / travel insurance), have zero deductible/copago, and have sufficient cover (60k euros). If it's not issued in Spain you probably need a certified translation of the policy/certificate.
