D-7 visa proof of accommodation question

Post new topic

ouli2823

I'm applying for the D-7 visa in the hope of moving to Portugal to stay with my girlfriend. I'm just wondering for the proof of accommodation, is it possible that I ask my girlfriend to issue a declaration stating that I will be staying in her apartment (Because the requirement for proof of accommodation states that a declaration from family member residing in Portugal is also acceptable), later down the line  if the visa is granted, I'll look for a rental and change the address?

Hi @ouli2823,

Yes, this is possible through a so-called "contrato de comodato":
