Life in Casablanca? Looking to accept Job there.

AmExpat60

I am an American, I have been working overseas for about 20 years in several different countries.

Looking at accepting a new job in Casablanca.  Engineering company.

I can't find much actual info on Casa. On reddit, they have nothing good to say about Casa. By the posts, they make it sound like a crime ridden cess pool.

I want to get the facts from true expats actually living there. Any insight would be appriciated. Particularly about the expat community.

Thank you.

Of all the forums, in all the world, you had to ask on this one.

Still, we get used to this as time goes by. 1f923.svg

Welcome to the forum, and try to forgive my terrible humour.

Not sure where else to ask. I have worked in many hardship locations, Algeria, Saudi, Azerbaijan (early days). But I knew people that have or did work in those places.  I don't know anyone who has ever worked in Morocco.

Just looking for how it is. Daily life, things to do, going out at night, places where expats live/hangout, etc.

@AmExpat60 I hope you're well. I don't currently live in Morocco but have spent a lot of time there. I was in Casa this summer. There are some places that I was warned not to venture in to alone at night, however, for the most part of my trip, I found it to be a city full of life and adventure. A really welcoming and nice place. The area around the Marina seemed nicest (from the limited places I visited) Hope that helps.

Also, how did you secure your engineering job?
