Moving from France to Sao Paulo and will be looking for a job

Post new topic

Hello, my name is Nelson and I am from France. I am considering moving to Brazil, Sao Paulo, for the mid-term (for 1/2 years). I don't know Portuguese yet but I've just started learning it through some mobile apps.

I am also looking for a job in Brazil (as a software engineer).

It's a pleasure to meet you all, hoping I can make connections I could meet when I'll be in Brazil

09/02/24 @jarman92.  Welcome, Nelson!  It's great that you're learning Portuguese.  Without either a family connection to Brazil or a job offer from a Brazilian employer in hand, however, the possibility of finding a legal job while here on a Tourist Visa is virtually nil.  Also, you should be aware that salary levels are considerably lower than in the EU, and working hours are considerably longer than in France.

Here are the Brazilian visas that are available to French citizens.  You may want to consider a Digital Nomad visa ( VITEM XIV) if you can arrange enough remote work to support yourself from non-Brazilian sources while in Brazil; if you're under 30 and meet the other qualifications, a VITEM VI might be a very good option.  Either will give you more time to build a network in Brazil than a 90 day tourist visa will:
