visiting a beach resort for a short holiday

stuleer

i was thinking of spending several days at a beach in Cebu or another resort around this year's Christmas time. My wife and i live and work in Hong Kong but have a house in Cauayan which we visit several times a year. So, we would take a flight from Manila to Cebu or other.

I would appreciate any ideas and advice you might have as to where to stay in Cebu.

I'm not looking at a 5 star hotel, but 4 star would be ok, haha. We would like a hotel on a beach and in an area with a lot of restaurants to try.

Thanks,

Stu

Coincidentally my neighbour along the Terrace was asking me the same question a few weeks ago as she is flying with a girlfriend out to the Philippines next February after Chinese New Year. Yes always avoid that Chinese festival in Phils. Her friend wants to be able to walk out of their beach hotel and have a selection of restaurants close by. That got me thinking until I came up with the obvious answer - Boracay.

Pedestrian friendly and, as I understand it, vastly improved since its revamp post covid. Plenty of 4 star hotels to choose from. I stayed at the Sea Wind hotel with my GF which is station1 with the best beach.

TIP : if you do choose the above venue fly into Caticlan airport instead of Kalibo 1.5 hours drive down the coast on the mainland. A bit pricier but worth it.
