NEW DEBIT CARD FOR SCOTIABANK

goinforit

Our debit card at Scotiabank expires soon and I am wondering how difficult

it will be to get a replacement.

Does anyone have recent experience with this process?

Not with Scotia, but with Santa Cruz it was a 2 minute ordeal.  BUT, they neglected to tell me I needed to call the number on the card to have it activated.  I have no idea why that wasn't done when I was right there getting a new card?  I imagine Scotia would be a similar process.  Just make sure you have your cédula/passport with you.

It's fairly easy and straightforward!

@goinforit You have to go in person to the branch for the replacement card.  Make sure they do not issue you a card that is going to expire in six months or less.

Thanks to everyone who responded.

Do we need to do this within the first 30 days of arriving on a tourist visa ?

Probably safer to assume yes!
