Winter life

Josh Clarke

Hi,

My wife and I love Paphos and are seriously considering moving to the city.

One question we wondered is what life is like over the winter months? Do most restaurants/bars etc close for winter while there are less tourists? Or does the city continue to have a buzz all year round?

Thanks in advance

Josh

The big coastal cities (Larnaca, Paphos, Limassol) are very nice, proper towns with year-round activity and a permanent population. Paphos is by far the smallest, so it's naturally a bit quieter (maybe too small for some). But it's still a very livable option rather than purely a summer resort. Each one also has a beach-adjacent "tourist area" and these zones are more noticeably slow/closed compared to the crowded summer months.

As a resident of the paphos district for 10 years now I can say that although some venues do close down in winter mainly for redecoration etc most are open.. Paphos as a city is still pretty much open for business, some of the more touristy areas do close for a little longer period than others but there is still a strong demand for places to be open for local residents and enough to satisfy that demand.

Yup, that's what I said. :-)
