What preventive care plans and measures are available in Belize?   Most of the hospitals have a man and woman preventative heath check ups. They include blood work, check up with a doctor, for men it would include a prostate cancer check, EKG, and things like that. For woman it would include a pap smear, mammogram and things like that with the blood work. These are so affordable like $250 BZD to $1000 BZD and they have levels least expensive to expensive. For example one I saw yesterday was like $250 for a check up and blood work. If you add the colonoscopy then that would add a bit to it.

Can expats easily access preventive healthcare services? yes all the above is available for anyone. then you can also go over the boarder to Mexico and  Guatemala get health care as well.

Does health insurance cover preventive care in Belize or is there any other scheme available? Any tips to choose the right plan?  Some do and some do not. best is to talk to your insurance agent and customize something you like and fits you and your budget. Personally I have a major medical policy and pay out of pocket for small stuff. I invest what the premium would be in a Treasury or CD and use as needed by paying out of pocket. Belize Insurance companies for expats are pretty affordable compared to the US. Low deductible and covers you in Belize. they have some policies that cover you to get health care in  Belize, Mexico, Guatemala and even covers some in the US. There are expat insurance companies as well.

How to get informed about preventive care plans or events: any useful website, hotline, or media that you’ve found helpful?  What I get is by subscribing on any social media plat form you like for the hospital of your choice. I prefer Belize Medical Associates and they send out things like that and do ads on Facebook.

What is the local attitude towards preventive care and how did you adjust to it?  this i don't know. I don't talk about it with anyone. I believe in a once of prevention and so i don't care what other people believe or think.  i would assume most do not believe or save for it.
