Moon Dog said . . . .I encourage everyone to read the first 85 pages of Jack Smith's filing. If after reading you still support Trump please schedule an appointment with your doctor. Thanks
https://static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/ … filing.pdf

********************************************

Probably you didn't read it. If you did you probably didn't understand it unless your a team of Lawyer's. It's just Smith grandstanding again, trying to save face.

I was standing in the chow line outside the mess hall in 1972 when stationed in South Korea. There were a couple officers standing to one side checking out the troops. My house boy must have done a good job on my boots and fatigues because they walked up to me and asked if I would like to have lunch with the generals the following day. Of course I agreed, it sounded like an opportunity for a good meal. This had to do with the MVA (Modern Volunteer Army) which was something that had been implemented recently.

The next day I was standing in the officer’s mess hall when a bunch of MP jeeps and staff cars with lights flashing entered the parking area. One staff car had flags bearing 4 stars. That was the staff car of General William Bradford Rosson who was the commander of the US Army Pacific at the time. I was very nervous at first to eat lunch with this man but the way he spoke to me made all that go away. He asked me a lot of questions about life at Camp Humphreys and I came to realize how special this man was and we had an amazing conversation, and the food was great!

I said all that to say this, anyone who rises the rank of 4-star general in the US Marine Corps is indeed a special person. General John Kelly has a long list of college degrees and a chest full of ribbons. He has led Marines in battle. During the initial assault on Baghdad, Kelly was asked by a reporter if he would ever consider defeat due to the strength of the enemy he was facing. Kelly replied: “Hell these are Marines. Men like them held Guadalcanal and took Iwo Jima. Baghdad ain't shit.” General Kelly knows Trump very well and if he says he is not fit to lead that is all I need to know, end of story.

@Moon Dog

Actually I got through some of the filing and feel no need to seek psychological treatment as perhaps Mr m dog did. I never had a problem giving qualified immunity to certain people such as police and high value political targets like US President's. People who refer other people to this type of bullshit have no idea that it is all a big manipulation of the weaker minded elements of society (often, liberal progressives for some reason) where the main and only objective is to keep Trump put of power. He is much-hated by what we sometimes call "the deep state" (it is bigger thsn that) from which mr Smith oozes his political conspiracies and I actually find the filing much less interesting than I would have thought.

Fred

I went through this and similar threads again.

I generally dislike the political left for a number of reasons, but mostly because a bunch of raving marxists tried to indoctrinate me when I joined the British Labour party.

They did me a big favour as close contact with them showed me just how dangerous they are, so I reevaluated my thoughts and joined the Tories. They were far more realistic in their outlook.

However, I stopped all partisan activities when I saw how corrupt both lots had become.

That left me as a disinterested observer - an advantages position as my thoughts are far less muddied by personal interests (but I confess a bit of a right leaning on many subjects).

The thing I see when people discuss the upcoming election is one side tends to lean on reasoned argument, but the other shows preference  for fear, insults, and total rubbish.

That suggests they don't have any actual policies they are able to argue on.

The left are a little better on policy argument, but not that great. They also have the massive disadvantage of entertaining the trans in women's toilets thing as an idea worthy of consideration.

I pity the US electorate.

@Moon Dog anyone can file anything at any tim It’s  not the length of the document it’s the credibility of the info contained within and that of the source/ author.  The Democrats are masters of misinformation.

Morgacj200424

@Moon also Jack Smith is not credible unless you are drinking the koolaid handed out by the DNC

Fred

Insults are not arguments.

Perhaps it would be nice if we avoided them.

Jack Smith's 165 page brief is just a summary of Trump's crimes to remain in office after losing the election. I've read the first 85 pages and it didn't take long because it is double spaced and there are over 700 footnotes referencing the evidence of the crimes. The first 85 pages are in laymen's terms but the rest of the document is legalese and not so easy to read, for me anyway.

Following a brief, such as the one we're talking about, is an appendix which is the detailed evidence for the crimes. The 1,889 page appendix was just released. The online copy is heavily redacted at this time but the courts have the unredacted document. If jack Smith has made any false statements in the brief or appendix you are welcome to point that out to the court and have Jack Smith disbarred, but I doubt that will happen. Jack Smith has done his homework, The Trump cult of personality folks are the only ones not buying it.

Talking about disbarment, CC5 (coconspirator #5) in the brief is Trump's lawyer Ken Chesebro. Chesebro has recently lost his license to practice law for lying to the court in support of Trump. Chesebro and 18 codefendants, including Trump, were charged "in a scheme to submit false election results to Congress concerning the 2020 presidential election." Rudy Giuliani has also been disbarred and he has been indicted in Arizona and ordered to pay $148 million to the Georgia election workers he defamed in the election subversion scheme. Rudy has pretty much lost everything defending Trump, then Trump stiffed him for his legal fees which is something Trump is famous for.

Other Trump lawyers who have been disbarred and/or charged with crimes include Jenna Ellis, John Eastman, Christina Bobb, Jeffrey Clark, Sidney Powell, Michael Cohen, Alina Habba, Cleta Mitchell, Ray Smith and Robert Cheeley. Others are pending. Jack Smith is not on the list since he honors his oath. You will not find a single false statement in the 165 page brief or the 1,889 page supporting appendix.

Sane washing is a term that is new to me. Sane washing has kept Trump somewhat relevant by only reporting the more rational parts of his speeches and leaving out the crazy bits like immigrants eating pets and post birth abortions. But now that Trump is getting more off the rails and rambling on about sexual acts and the size of a dead golfer’s junk it’s getting a little more difficult to sane wash.

It should be evident to everyone by now that Trump tried to steal the 2020 election. Why do Trump supporters think that’s OK? Jim Jordan and James Comer pushed for the impeachment of Joe Biden based on Russian intelligence, they thought. When they learned that it was actually Russian disinformation it was like, so what, let’s do it anyway!

Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden is being prosecuted by a Trump appointed prosecutor David Weiss. Biden could have fired the prosecutor and put a friendly prosecutor on the case but on the recommendation of Delaware’s two Democrat senators, Joe left Weiss in place. I believe that is in stark contrast to how Trump would have handled it had it been his son.

So Trump is setting up the next episode of election theft. Trump and house speaker Mike Johnson were snickering about their “little secret” (wink, wink) on stage in front of the world. The polls seem to indicate the election is going Kamala’s way, but Trump and his minions are feeding false polling info to his supporters who are always hungry for news they can agree with, even if it’s fake. If Kamala prevails, Trump can point to his fake polling data and say the election was stolen, and he will do that.

Election theft is demonstrably a strategy of the other side and may well happen again tomorrow, though lots of people will be watching this time making it much harder for the DNC cadre to get away with. The rest of this is simple TDS.

Larry, don't cry. Regarding low IQ, that is a characteristic of liberal.prigressives dependent on government to survive. I will gladly match your IQ to mine. But don't cry! Nothing worse than a crying, slobbering effeminate liberal male in years lol.

Fred

I pity the US as a country because it will  lose whichever idiot wins.

I also pity the world because of the likely chaos if Trump wins.

Ukraine must be absolutely crapping its collective self as it's looking like Biden's war in that country is about to take a nasty turn for them.

bigpearl

Well Fred the people have spoken and not only them but the world will watch on in aw, as we say you made your bed. We will watch on with baited breath.

OMO.

Cheers, Steve.

Trump looks like a winner

The US will be a loser

Russia will be a winner

China will push BRICS whilst the US is weak and upsetting the world

Morgacj200424

Congratulations to Donald J Trump the next president of the United States! He will win both the popular and electoral vote!

Don’t  cry too much libs!

Morgacj200424

@danfinn  Great comment!

Morgacj200424

@danfinn this time they counted the votes until the end.  Only Kamala went home to bed leaving her supporters in the dark. LOL!

Trump won. I predict no chaos. Ukraine can now settle their regional border dispute with Russia without subjecting the rest of the world to a wwIII threat. Give me a break, Biden did not have the cognitive ability to start a war by himself, that was the DNC, now apparently losing power.

Morgacj200424

@danfinn

Absolutely correct.  Thank God the voters woke up just in time!  Can’t imagine what the US would have looked like after 4 years under Kamala!

Perhaps the only cure is forcing the patient to watch Trump's acceptance speech a number of times 😆

Yes and surprisingly, Trump's acceptance speech, the segment I heard anyway, was simply the most reasoned speech I have heard him give. He was reasoned, generous and genuinely hopeful and encouraging regarding his success and in terms of America's future.

Certainly his acceptance speech was an abrupt and delightful change from his recent manner and tone. One heard little weaving through topics; he remained on point, with logic and sensitivity and one must say he was genuinely reassuring.

Early days, but his thoughts and words, taken together, did indeed seem to bode well for his second American presidency.

Allow us non-yanks here to wish every American on this forum the success you seek under your new management.

Sure it's easy to be flippant and world weary, but this is a major world event.

We are allowed to be genuinely hopeful :-)

Happy trails.

Fred

Since this thread is now down to speculation and grandstanding, it seems to have even less point than it did when it started.

History will be written as it always is, but these are likely to be interesting times.

Of course there won’t be Dan. The childish spoilt brat won so this time had no reason to upend the board game.

Didn't you hear

Trump on the first day in office will sign an executive order, ordering anyone who voted for Harris into counseling, gulags or deportation to their parents/grandparents native country.

Their past voice on social media will determine their outcome.

LOL "of course there won't be chaos" Mr. Lotus Eater. But Freddy said there would be chaos so go tell Freddy, not me, you agree and that this is all TDS hype. As far as a childish brat is concerned, your using that TDS term reduces my estimation of you as a balanced commentator on world affairs as you see them. So, I will not take what you say seriously in matters involving politics because you are too easily influenced by media and hearsay evidence.

If you listen to Harris's concession speech, one blurp of confession and minutes of regurgitating her campaign speech.

She is the Vice President she is not vacating the West Wing of the Whitehouse, she will be vacating the US Naval Observatory.

For vacating the Whitehouse/US Capital, Jill Biden will be screaming and bitching the on the way out. On the other hand they will have to send out a search party trying to locate sleepy Joe who is lost and wandering.

On a serious note:

The real problem started when Biden was nominated in 2020, many people knew Joe was starting to lose it. If they had put up a decent candidate, that candidate would have won and repeated this year.

This time, If the Democrats had picked a decent candidate they would have mopped the floor with Trump. Their choice was the worse possible choice choosing the Harris/Walz ticket.

Now far as Shapiro, he would never accepted the VP position. He knew Harris was going down the tubes and why be associated with that. Why blemish his name because he is going to be the front runner in 2028.

Morgacj200424

@Moon Dog January 6th was nothing compared to the previous summer of love which saw major destruction in many of the major US cities . Funny how the left always minimizes the problems they directly cause while focusing in on the other side. Project 2025 is simply an attempt to bring back some normalcy to the US. Trump looks very good and it’s amazing he was able to keep up the recent hectic campaign schedule.  So glad Americans finally woke up and dismissed the left wing woke candidate that was Harris
