Buying property outside Pleven

Bob East London

Hello,

I live in London and have made some great Bulgarian friends who are living here. They have been really helpful in helping me with finding a property.

I have both a British and Irish passport. Will I be able to live and work in Bulgaria on my Irish passport, or do I need more?

Thanks

Bob

Yes, with your Irish passport the process is relatively simple. There's a guide on this site, the insured/self funded info sheet is probably the most relevant for you.

Is there a maximum amount of days that I can stay per year? I understand from reading in the link that up to 90 days is fine on my passport, but I may be going back and forth, doing work on the house, and could end up staying for a few months at a time, if that makes sense?

Thanks

With an Irish passport you can stay as long as you like, it's just you are limited to 90 days with a British passport.
