mugtech said. . . . Bull. Any illegal aliens living in the USA are subject to the USA laws and the states in which they reside. Heard a few have been arrested. Therefore any children born to such people are automatically citizens of the USA..
***********************************
Which reminds me of: As I understand it, if the illegal is a criminal and his children were born in the states, this illegal will be deported separating him from the family.
Now if a US citizen is a criminal and jailed he too would be separated from his family.
All you woke's will be suffering for a long time, four years of Trump and eight years of Vance.
It is not WHERE the child was born, it is WHO the child was born to. - @danfinn
See, danfinn clearly supports Obama's right to be president regardless of what 'birthers' say.
I think it's really nice to see the red lot supporting a black president's rights. There's clearly hope for the world.

This was posted on the internet after Obama was elected.
Yes, we Aussies certainly believe there's hope for our world.
We also tend to support strongly all human rights world-wide.
Australia has one of the highest immigration rates of all nations.

Trump repeated some of his oldies but goodies today. He repeated his desire to change the 14th amendment, which provides immediate citizenship for anyone born in the USA. He claimed again that the USA is the only country where this is done. Of course it is also true in Canada and Mexico, most of South America, and about 20 other countries. Loves to hang on to those old lies. - @mugtech Let's see. As usual, such issues are a bit too complicated for most "social justice" warriers (or tired old, fossilized liberals) to conceptualize. You really need an IQ of at keast 85 or 90 but I will try.The pertinent section of the 24th amend. citizenship clause states:All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdicRtion thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."And subject to the jurisdiction...thereof" meaning, 'and subject to the jurisdiction of the United States'.The child is by necessity subject to the same jurisdiction as the parents both before and after birth. This means of course that children of persons subject to the jurisdiction of another country...such as children of diplomats, visitors, Illegal aliens from Mexico, SA or Philippines...are NOT IN SCOPE of the 14th amendment. Which parent(s) are present in the US and subject to the jurisdiction of the US? One of both of whom are USA Citizens. Why only citizens? Because only US citizens are not primarily subject to any foreign jurisdiction. Sorry folks, this also includes green card holders (permanent residents) because such parents are citizens of foreign countries. However, in term of legal green card holders, many of us had children in the USA with a green card filipina but our children are citizens because they derived citizenship from the American spouse.Remember, if a US citizen is a parent of a child born in the Philippines, then that child can also be declared a US citizen because one parent was "subject to the jurisdiction of the United States" even though living outside the US. It is not WHERE the child was born, it is WHO the child was born to. Can you figure that out mugtick? - @danfinn Bull. Any illegal aliens living in the USA are subject to the USA laws and the states in which they reside. Heard a few have been arrested. We will soon see about that. The wording of the amendment will not change but the interpretation will be clarified, after 150 years as you say.. You are using the old liberal bleeding heart interpretation but the new US Supreme Court may interpret it properly. You may call it bull but you will be laughing out of you a$$ when SCOTUS rules with the intended interpretation which, again, was not to allow pregnant illegal border crossers visit the nearest usa hospital and drop their anchor babies as an immigration investment for later chain immigration. We all know that was not the intent. The current supreme court majority is not so likely to rule your way.
By the way, why are you so intent on f#cking up the school systems, health care facilities and overwhelming the social infrastructure used mostly by the USA poor and middle class? And cratering their wages? Do you realize what is happening? I am sure you do. You have no problem letting in 20 million? How many more do you want, mugtick, another 20 mil or how about matching the current population of 330 million? Veteran or not, do you consider yourself patriotic nowadays or would you prefer that the USA fade into distant memory like your foreign buddy Fred? I have no problem with Fred as he is not American and has standing to hate America. But you? Just curious. You may consider the question rhetorical if you wish and refuse to answer.

I do not use any interpretation of the 14th except the way it has been used the previous 150 years. I have no skin in the game, not looking to get illegals into the country. I just like the idea of everyone knowing what the law is. If it changes, then let everyone know.. Fred not my buddy. Never served in the military, college seemed a better choice than Vietnam, but I am fond of the food. Had friends die and others wounded, was and have been patriotic always. Studied plenty of military history. My father served in the 25th Infantry during the retaking of Luzon in 1945. His war stories were what got me interested in the Philippines. Watched all the John Wayne movies. Always support the troops, attend Memorial Day services. I know USA is the best, one of the reasons I spend half the year here and half the year in the USA.

I agree. Get an education, even a rubbish American one, or invade someone's country and commit rapes and mass murders.
The education wins every time.
@Fred
That's a crass churlish statement to make and totally out of line - @Lotus Eater
The US is around 12 to 15 places down most lists of countries with the best educational systems (unless you go to a US site where it's first every time)
The US did invade Vietnam, a country that was absolutely no threat to the US
US troops carried out mass murder and rapes. Google "My Lai massacre".
In my opinion, raping and mutilating 12 year old children is a shade more crass than mentioning it when the subject of the US invasion of Vietnam to support a mass murdering dictator in the south of that country is brought up.
The US government let off the killers and rapists with only one being punished at all, and he only got house arrest for three years.
"Out of line" is down to the individual reader's conscience, but it is factual.
The question is, will Trump's actions bring trouble to US expats in Asia, and will US crimes in the region act as part of the decision making process if Asian countries go for tit for tat expulsions?

One small example of the treatment by Fred's host Government to a former Christian region in Indonesia, now independent.
The 12 November 1991 Massacre in Dili, East Timor and the Response of the Indonesian Government
Introduction
From 50 to 200 people were killed and many others wounded on the morning of 12 November 1991 when Indonesian Security forces fired automatic weapons for several minutes at a crowd of approximately 3000 people gathered at Santa Cruz cemetery in Dili, East Timor. Scores were severely beaten and stabbed during the attack. Those present had participated in a procession to the grave of Sebastio Gomes Rangel, a young Timorese man killed on 28 October 1991 when security forces attacked the Motael parish church where he and a number of Timorese had taken refuge. This report summarizes the testimony of eyewitnesses to the 12 November 1991 Santa Cruz massacre in East Timor, including witnesses living outside Indonesia interviewed by the ICJ, and film footage of the incident. (Despite two requests to the Indonesian authorities, the ICJ was not granted permission to enter East Timor in order to carry out an on-site visit or interview witnesses.) The report also reviews official accounts of the incident provided by the Indonesian authorities. It then analyzes the findings and methodology of the National Commission of Inquiry established by the Indonesian Government, which issued its Advance Report on 26 December 1991. Each of the witnesses interviewed by the ICJ emphatically stated that the demonstration remained peaceful and controlled until, without warning or provocation, Indonesian security forces fired on the crowd. None saw the demonstrators carrying weapons. The witnesses further reported that security forces acted in a seemingly premeditated and disciplined manner throughout the incident. The ICJ finds statements by the Indonesian Government and military authorities regarding the massacre differ drastically from eyewitness accounts and other evidence. The ICJ further concludes that the National Commission of Inquiry, formed to investigate the incident, failed to meet internationally recognized standards of impartiality, credibility and technical competence. Finally, the ICJ concludes that the Commission’s Advance Report, which accepts the government’s

A very nice attempt to deflect. Rather than telling the world how US troops didn't rape and murder 12 year old girls, you attempt to say it's fine because you think other people have done similar things.
Apart from Indonesia taking refugees from other countries, with more on the way using Indonesian government arranged transport, Indonesia is not talking about mass deportations that might cause our expats to be booted out of their new country of residence.
The US under Trump is talking about enacting that very thing.
I maintain, through the deflection attempts, US expats might well find themselves with big problems and big losses as their new idiot leader pushes his openly racist policies.
That might very well include Vietnam (the scene of many war crimes) and the Philippines (where it's been over 100 years since the last US mass murders).
However, the US is pushing for more and more military bases in the Philippines under the claims they want to protect Japan, a county that committed mass atrocities in that country but so much as an apology is tough to get out of the Japanese government - They claim the matter is closed after the 1951 treaty, but it isn't for the surviving victims.
So the Philippines has a choice of sticking with a military guilty of many war crimes intent on defending another country with a terrible war crimes record, or moving towards China and excellent, top quality capitalism.
Trump is likely to push too far, and a Duterte family member might well push the Philippines into a better direction, and US expats out.
Fred it's impossible for myself and others to carry on an intelligent conversation with you, because there is no intelligence from your side.
Deflect that

I'll link to a few videos for you. Denying the easily provable doesn't mean it isn't true.
As for the 'idiot' accusation, racism is the domain of idiots.
I can start with his 'bad genes' remarks, then move on to the 'eating pets' stuff.
They aren't hard to find on YouTube.
I wonder how married men, and every other man who isn't a pathetic sex pest, sees the president pest elect's views on women.
https://youtu.be/bq2zibeZ-xw?feature=shared
Would you want Trump to grab your wife or daughter by the pussy?
Personally, I'd chop the bastard's hand off, but dumbos voted to make him their leader.
That brings us to his relationships with world leaders, and that takes us to how they will see US expats when he goes crackers.
When, not if.
I see attacks on Americans abroad, and I see Americans becoming very unwelcome in a lot of countries.
Is 'grab bag' time coming?
To the thread title.
Trump is an extremist. Removing illegal immigrants is fine, but he is unlikely to be satisfied with that.
I see a rather dark possible future where republican extremists round up foreign looking people, and I don't see the rather racist group Trump has around him doing a lot to stop them.
If that dystopian future (or anything like it) happens, US expats are very likely to see the brunt of Trump's policies - official or otherwise.
Many Americans are idiotic racists
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9168424/
The Trump 'Chinese virus' comments really got them into the swing of their stupidity.
Trump will very likely set that rubbish off again.
I would not want to be a US expat in Asia when Trump gets back into the white house.
I suppose I'll have to do my old trick of making sure everyone knows I'm not American. I had to do that before, and all was well as soon as they found out I wasn't.
For people unlucky enough to be US citizens abroad, I see a difficult few years.

Perhaps you can refute my statements with something more substantial than calling me crazy.
Did Trump claim immigrants were eating pets?
Did Trump tell the world (accidentally) he grabs women by the pussy?
Has Trump made a number of other racist statements?
Given the answer to all the above is, he did, how will world leaders see him as he deals with them? I would look at him as a crazed sex pest racist, thus not hold him in much regard.
Add his deportation plans and the likely fallout, and I can see him destroying a few US expat lives abroad.
I cannot express hiw much I despise American citizens who do what they can to defame their country's elected leadership on an international forum. In a fit of irrationality, he calls his President a liar amongst other things. This post is an example of moral cowardice. The president elect of the US is a symbol of the will and soul of the United Sratee people and this degenerate US resident calls him a liar. Call him what you want to sn Americsn audience but feeding the hate of those many non US expats afflicted with TDS and/or America-envy, just get their approva on these forums, may not be illegal due to 1A but morally it is a form of treason against their homeland.
@Fred

I never said that. You may be acting irrationally manic but I never said "crazy". I'm not sure what the word means but I may propose "psychotic". I am not sure you have reached stage yet, have you?
Did Trump claim immigrants were eating pets?
Not sure, I wasn't following but I do know that many unvetted illegal immigrants eat pets. They get hungry, got no money so gotta eat somethin'. Go to Chinatown in any large city and you won't see any stray dogs or cats hanging out near the restaurants 😆
Anyway, my research today shows that, apparently , some regular Springfield residents claimd illegals ate their.pets. Sounds like a possibility, knowing the culture. But prove it! If my dog disappeared into doggie heaven hiw do I prove how it got there? So Trump took the L on thst one.
Obviously this assertion seemed to work in Harris' favor during that debate.
However the L apparently did not help her win the election. Nobody cares.
I used to live in South.Florida where many Haitisn illegal immigrants were present and these claims do not surprize me. The people who find the claims unbelievable tend to be those who don't get out much and are unfamiliar with the culture (and cuisine 😆) of 3rd world immigrants in their homelands.
Did Trump tell the world (accidentally) he grabs women by the pussy?
Not surprized I'd he did. He also won the election having been accused of saying that for 7-8 years but the voters didn't care..
BTW Does that offend you Fred? Can you be more of a man and take a little locker room talk or are you a snowflake, easily-offended by male talk, being a wokie pussy yourself?
But like I said, Trump won. Thank you once again Fred for giving me the opportunity to say that and gloat.
Has Trump made a number of other racist statements?
Saying the truth that some illegals eat pets is the r-word? As for the R word, blacks and other minorities put him over the top on Nov 5. So much for your journey into USA cancel-culture. You.might notice nobdy cares anymore.

Calling Trump a liar concerning said topic does not make Me a degenerate.nor a moral coward nor unpatriotic. Being allowed to criticize our leaders without recriminations is what makes us great. Were you unpatriotic when you accused Obama of being born in Africa? The nature of the audience does not change the validity of the statements. You are making one of the basic mistakes on a forum, you keep feeding the troll. The moron is not worthy of a response no matter what he says on any topic.
Things are getting heated on this thread. Maybe I should continue the story about my date with this guy with an expiring work visa. It gets interesting because he started talking about planning our wedding.

Trump is clearly a dangerous fool, but his power base enables his idiocy.
This is exactly the reason so many people hate entitled Americans, and part of the reason US expats, idiots or fine people, are in danger of being booted out of some countries as Trump's extremism plays out.

That's so 1980s racism.

I suspect you to be guilty of a terminological inexactitude.

Calling anybody a liar is slanderous.
Stating their birthplace is not.
It is my opinion-only that slandering the president in an international forum is a personal moral issue that other US citizens object to. They may prefer not to just sit around and say nothing because silence in this case may signal agreement.

It is when you lie about a person's place of birth.
Trump is a liar
https://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-37391652
Over the following years, Mr Trump continued to raise questions and express doubts.
In 2012 he tweeted, external that he had an "extremely credible source" who told him the birth certificate was a fraud.
In 2013 he raised, external suspicion about the death of a Hawaiian health official who verified copies of Mr Obama's "birth certificate".
In 2014 he asked, external hackers to access Mr Obama's college records and check his "place of birth".
As recently as this month, Mr Trump did not back away from his past support of the "birther" cause.
His unending steam of lies is part of the reason so many of the world's hate having to deal with the president elect. The hate he generates is one reason US expats should be worried about their lives abroad.
I predict US expats in many countries will be seen with distrust, then suspicion, and finally hate.
I see US expats having to lie about where they are from, or attempt to show they are Democrat voters.
US expats working with companies with notable exports to the US will lose their jobs as Trump tariffs force manufacturers to hunt for new markets.
US expats in Europe and the UK will have it easier, but a lot will be forced to return to the US as doors get slammed in their faces.
I think it was Wilson who said, “a week is a long time in politics” - imagine the impact 4 years of Trump's personality will have on US expats.
I expect a knock on my door from the Staatssicherheit any minute.
