I am currently residing in Brussels, and my employer is also based in Brussels.

I am planning to apply for an unlimited work permit, as I have been living and working in Brussels for more than 30 months.

In the future, after approximately six months, I may relocate to Flanders while continuing my current employment in Brussels.

Will this change in residence affect my next residence permit renewal?

Thank you!

@LegendaryV

No, it will not affect your residence permit renewal since you are relocating within Belgium. Even if you were moving to another EU country, having an unlimited (L card) work permit would not be an issue. The only noticeable change to your residence card will be its language.

One important note: If you plan to apply for Belgian citizenship in the future, you must maintain five years of uninterrupted residence. When relocating, ensure that you first have a new address and register at the new municipality before deregistering from your current address. If you deregister before registering at your new location, this will interrupt your official residency, restarting the five-year count.

Thanks for the response.

I am not on L card.

I am on A card with limited single permit.

The question is related to unlimited single permit.
