Unlimited work permit and relocation to flanders from brussels

LegendaryV

I am currently residing in Brussels, and my employer is also based in Brussels.

I am planning to apply for an unlimited work permit, as I have been living and working in Brussels for more than 30 months.

In the future, after approximately six months, I may relocate to Flanders while continuing my current employment in Brussels.

Will this change in residence affect my next residence permit renewal?

Thank you!

No, it will not affect your residence permit renewal since you are relocating within Belgium. Even if you were moving to another EU country, having an unlimited (L card) work permit would not be an issue. The only noticeable change to your residence card will be its language.

One important note: If you plan to apply for Belgian citizenship in the future, you must maintain five years of uninterrupted residence. When relocating, ensure that you first have a new address and register at the new municipality before deregistering from your current address. If you deregister before registering at your new location, this will interrupt your official residency, restarting the five-year count.

Thanks for the response.

I am not on L card.

I am on A card with limited single permit.

The question is related to unlimited single permit.

Hi, I have a question on unlimited work permit. Want to understand the advantages of having an unlimited work permit. In any case, if you lose a job, you still only have 3 months to find a new one with a limited or unlimited work permit, if I am not wrong. Then what benefit does this unlimited work permit give me apart from the fact that the new employer can directly hire me without having to sponsor me?

LegendaryV

@Deep Not much benefit except change in employer without asking for new WP.

if u have single permit for couple years better keep it and apply for L card, Unlimited wp will mess you up as it RP given just for 1 year
