Wife going to live with husband in Riyadh

Good day

We are from South Africa.

My husband is already in Riyadh, working and received Iqama etc.

His HR has done Family visa for me to go stay with him which was approved.

Now they are telling him he needs to do spouse visa not family visa?

Can somebody please shed some light on what we have to do to get me to stay with him there?

I am so frustrated of waiting here and everytime the answer changed. I would like to stay and not have to come home to South Africa every 3 months.

Anybody know what to do please?
