A question to all: did anyone experience such a long review of documents for a SP renewal? In 2023, it was my first application for a SP and with all additional requests, altogether it took 2 (two) months: October 18, 2023 - December 21, 2023!
This year, it is already the first week of January, and my employer has not even heard about the admissibility - and this is still on the Region level! I've heard the renewal is now treated identically to the first application.
@ruslan.galkanov
Yes this year it is mess in Brussels.. in my case I got L card faster then renewal, at the moment my L card was approved my SP renewal even did not start to process the application and both I applied same time...
@ievgenfeldmann
Wow, interesting... I was also told about the mess in BRU which apparently had started in September 2024.
@ievgenfeldmann
HI
congrats!
When did you apply for the L card, when was it approved
How did they inform you?
Did you check Mon Dossier?
Because I am waiting for the approvment
Thank you
@Mai Rose
Commune will send u an email , but u should keep asking them as they tend to delay. U will not see in Mon Dossier only after u activate the card. Applied October 1 received December 8

Question, in my A card it states that the expiry date is 8/Feb/2025. At this moment I'm still waiting for the residence permit (annex 46). My question is, what happens if it reaches 8/Feb/2025 and there's still no decision for my residence permit?
Also, once I get my residence permit, then it's straightforward that I just go to my town hall to collect my new residence card?
Brussels Region. First time application as a "metier en penurie", but already living in Belgium as a student and then on the orientation year visa.
Application date: 04/10
Dossier considered complete: 23/10
WP: 24/10
RP: still waiting
I called IBZ today to check on the status of my application and they just said that my file is still being processed and it could take up to 4 months. They said it could be quicker than the 4 months but they wouldn't give me an estimate... Anybody here received their RP already from WPs approved in October?
@julia.shew
Wow it takes so long!! Do they take into account the starting date of the job ? I need to start in February and my WP was approved in December
@Yasaman Hedayat
I did not know one could follow anything online. Supposedly, it is only your employer who can do that.
@Unknown fan
I don't think so... The work contract that my employer submitted gave a start date of November 1, 2024.
My Annex 46 just came through!! Now going to the commune on 5 February to pick up the Annex 49 and order my new card (if I understand the process correctly).
Sum of process:

Has anyone applied for the single permit application for the first time as a "postdoc"? My university submitted the single permit application for me in the first week of November 2024, and my job start was in the first week of December, however I am still waiting for the permit. Is there any time estimation for receiving the permit for such a scientific job?
Hey guys.

@ievgenfeldmann
my case is for BRX
@a19
Once you receive WP you can always call immigration office to ask on your status...I did several times they are quite responsive!
@ievgenfeldmann
thanks, I tried to reach them few times via email, but they are not answering, I will try to call them. I was guessing that it will not take more than 2 months to get single permit for the case of the postdoc, but it passed, hope to not be very late..

Hello,
If you send all the documents to your employer for single permit 3 weeks before but you get automated reply about "single permit privacy notice" now. Does it mean employer has submitted your application now only and not earlier or is there any other meaning to it? Has it happened to anyone before? What does this privacy notice mean?
Anyone applying for a professional card renewal?
I emailed my recruiter yesterday to inquiry about my single permit application status and she told me that it is currently being processed by the foreigner's office, for the sake of the single permit application what does that mean? given that I have received the privacy notice email on 16/12. Region: Wallonie
@Mohanned Ahmed
it means you received the first approval given by regional employment ministry. and the file is now with IBZ / Immigration office for Residence permit check.
@Mohanned Ahmed
Based on the thread from previous years, I'd say 2 months
@ruslan.galkanov
Did you receive any updates from the Brussels region? My employer submitted the application on 17 Dec 2024 but we haven’t heard anything until now. Not even news about admissibility.
Hi guys!
when the status says "In treatment by office" how long does it take to hear from them ? its been already 8 weeks from the WP
@Unknown fan
It's not reflecting reality. I'm my case I was already holding the card on my hands, right after 2 months status changed to : positive decision
Total process from zero to end took 4 months.
I was calling to municipality because I need to work and I can not without paper.
So they told me that application approved.
But to my friend from processing to negative decision took a month in total from zero to end
