Taking over utilities on holiday home purchase

moresunplease

We will be getting the keys to our holiday home in Peyia on 28 January. We are flying into Paphos early on the day before.

Can anyone give us advice re taking over electric, water, local taxes etc. Only ever had experience in England.

Internet currently with CYTA fiber.  We have heard that you don't have to buy Internet for the whole year, but can buy it for shorter timescales to suit our visits. Any info re providers offering this will be greatfully received.

Thanks in advance.

For utilities go to AOP water authority in Peyia Akamas Municipality make application and pay deposits ..similarly with electric at the office in Paphos...just along from the big highway roundabout round the corner and behind alfa mega .... The black glass building.. take your passports and deeds or proof of purchase.

Annual MIPT and refuse rax is payable to local municipality too.

Cyta do a low rate or a nominal switch on switch off rate..  when empty.. but you might get better deal with dish based system from wifibre or ecotech both very very very good services.. but it will in incur new antenna and installation costs.... Their systems are better imo than local Jtech...
