Hello! I am really interested in coming to Kenya this year to go on a Safari. I would be a solo traveler. However, every place that I look online they quote a price, but then they indicate that it is per person - sharing. I assume that means they are assuming that the room will be occupied by 2 persons and therefore the 4k (or whatever) that they quote is actually 8k for a solo traveler. Do I have that right? The price is pretty steep for 1 person. Are there any travel companies that is more budget friendly for solo travelers? I don't mind spending up to 5k for the safari - but doubling that is pretty pricey.

No, it doesn't mean that you need to pay for 2 people to have a room by yourself.

There will be a single rate that will, of course be higher than someone in a shared room, but it is usually considerably less. I suggest you email the safari companies and ask them for the single rate. Don't use those forms to fill in - they are rarely looked at. Find the actual email address and phone #.
