It's an aim for sure but I can't see it happening myself. .. as long as this island is divided ..

Cyprus faces several challenges delaying its Schengen membership:

Green Line Buffer Zone: The division between the Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish-controlled north complicates compliance with Schengen rules. Enhanced passport controls and modifications to the Green Line Regulation are required to align with EU standards.

Geographic Isolation: As an island without land borders with other EU nations, Cyprus faces logistical difficulties in integrating into Schengen’s border control framework.

Political Division: The unresolved territorial dispute raises sovereignty concerns and complicates the establishment of a secure external EU border.

You can travel without a visa to Cyprus for up to 90 days. This applies if you travel: as a tourist. to visit family or friends.
