Can I bring my medication with me ?

uncleden

Hi all,

Hey can someone tell me when I move to Saudi if I can bring my medication with me?

I've heard mixed things on whether or not its allowed for health professionals to be on an SSRI (A common anti anxiety medication used widely in the west).

Can anyone shine any light on this

There are two different issues at play here.

As far as SSRIs are concerned, you can bring your medicine with a prescription into the country.  Usually no one even bothers to check if the quantity is reasonable i.e. a month or so.   All SSRIs are available easily here from pharmacies.

Now as far as health care professionals are concerned, the work visa medical is the same but employers put more stringent requirements for their health at their own end.   You don't have to declare that you are taking anti depressants e.g. prozac..........and all will be fine.   Why go out of your way to give information about something that cannot be picked up in a medical test?
