Are you asking about buying a property?

Sed N

It is a general question on all topics.

I see.

Well I had spinal surgery in a hospital in KL for a slipped disk. I spent a few days there and when it came to the payment I had to wait about 20 minutes and then was told that the insurance company had paid for everything. That was easier than expected.

When I wanted to add my son to MM2H, initially I wasn't sure if I could do it myself, but after visiting the immigration office I discovered it was easier than I had expected. I later did it myself for my daughter.

I remember when I first tried to get a mortgage loan from a bank in Malaysia. My relationship manager at the bank told me it was no problem and I applied for a 90% loan. That got rejected. He suggested I try for 80%, that also got rejected. Eventually they agreed to lend me 50% but I had to maintain an equal amount in the bank in a fixed deposit. I refused and just bought the place with cash. That first loan application was harder than I expected.

Subsequent loans of 50% or 60% were always approved and without having to need any fixed deposits or any proof of income. That was easier than I expected.

Buying a new car was easier than expected. Also getting the huge tax discount was easy.

What is the cost of insurance premiums, and does it cover more countries than  Malaysia or only Malaysia? I read another post and it appears you travel a lot.

How much is an average house cost?

Best monthly income to live in 2025+?

Insurance was around MYR3,500 a few years ago for me who is older and my wife and two kids. Considerably cheaper and better than private insurance in say Indonesia.

There's no answer to the average cost of a house. There are online property sites in Malaysia and you can input your requirements and area you want to live and you'll see lots of listings.

No idea about best monthly income. I haven't worked since 2001 and I lived in Malaysia from 2003 until 2015. Obviously the more the better.
