Hi New Member - looking for advice on flexibility to and from Malta

Hi

My husband and I are looking to finally make the jump but I am a little apprehensive.  Brexit has thrown an almighty spanner in our plans of having the freedom to come and go back to UK to see family.  We already have a house in Malta, brought in 2016.  We have a Maltese bank account,  Arms water and electric account and even a VAT number but we are still, at the moment,  living in UK.  Just trying to get rid of the last child ( 21 this year) then we will be making plans.   In an ideal world, we just need an ID card so we can come and go but I'm not sure how feasible that is.  We need to get around the 90 day rule and have been looking at options but going round and round in circles. Not sure how easy the long stay (D) visas are to get as we are looking for flexibility and I'm not sure that's a good enough reason for this particular visa.  Any advice would be grateful.  Thank you.
