Looking for a Notary in Barcelona for Pareja de Hecho

Post new topic

TomPW

Starting in July 2025, I (Dutch, EU) want to start living together with my girlfriend (Moroccan, non-EU) in Barcelona, Spain. As part of the process, we need to register as a Pareja de Hecho (1).

Our main challenge is that we haven’t lived together before (no prior cohabitation). However, in Catalonia, there is no government-mandated minimum cohabitation requirement—instead, Notaries set their own criteria.

We are looking for a Notary in Barcelona who does not require a minimum period of cohabitation. If you know of such a Notary, or a lawyer/agency who can connect us with one, we would greatly appreciate your recommendations.

Note: We are only seeking help with finding the right Notary. We do not need advice on the rest of the process.

APPENDIX – The Full Process (1):

    1.    Obtaining NIE (Foreigner Identity Number)

    2.    Registering Empadronamiento (residency registration)

    3.    Obtaining SSN (Social Security Number)

    4.    Registering as Pareja de Hecho at a Notary

    5.    Applying for her TIE (Foreigner Identity Card)

Thanks in advance for any leads!
