Sending Money To Cape Verde

Chialuka

Hello everyone,

I am a digital nomad, and I'll be working from Praia for a couple of months. I want to send money from a foreign account to myself here and was wondering if Western Union is the best way to do this. Is anyone familiar with their rates? Is it cheaper to do a wire transfer instead?

Thanks for all the help!

You can use Western Union or MoneyGram. Their fees are MUCH lower than doing wire transfers, except if you transfer via Revolut., (assuming you can have a Revolut account in the country where you are relocating from). Revolut is the cheapest transfer method.

Bom dia @Chialuka

You didn't say from what country your coming from.

If you (or your money) are coming from the U.S, I would recommend 'Remitly'.

Setup an account at a bank in Praia and send money to yourself.

Relatively inexpensive at $1.99 US per transaction.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot, @Angelo and @Geder! I am sending from a US account, so I'll use the options you suggested.

Obrigado!
