Hello gigelush72 -> Why facebook? You can also organize gatherings on Expat.com itself. We can help you for that. ;)

Thank you,
Aurélie

really gigelush!!!! hahahahaha

Tolmik

well, sorry but I for example don't use FB on my phone, and the only computer that can access my account is my Thinkpad. So for me it is way easier to organize here, as I can see this blog from my office.

gigelush72

ok , ok...don't shoot the piano player ... it was only an ideea ....theoretically you should encourage good intentions...practically it looks you don't...so i promise will remain at the stage of viewer and reader...no any other initiative

Salman Omrani

Hi Gigelush, forget about the laughin and people saying that they don use fb. that really isn't important.

the best part of Expat.com is that everyone is involved at one point of time or the other, people come an go, thats the nature of expats. but to have one station where they all pass through and to be able to communicate with them, thats the true beauty of this blog. moving anywhere else, be it fb twitter etc, beats the purpose doesn't it?

so just lighten up and dont be upset that one suggestion didnt get through. im sure you got more up yer sleeve ;)

btw, whatever happened to last wednesdays meet up?

Now, that would be interesting. Will it come in WP8 edition?

Back on topic: I think Twitter IS a good idea tough, if it can send SMS to your mobile. Or some mass SMS sending scripts. If you send the time and date to people subscribed to it, then more will come and less will forget it.

Hopefully :D

Salman Omrani

anything not on Expat.com, is not on Expat.com. all you folks are free to do what you want of course. but ... not on Expat.com.

:P Blah

Twitter idea is the winner. I've been thinking about WhatsApp, Viber etc but that is far from practicality. The host can't just add people through your cell number for EVERY single chat session.

Julien,
Any concerns if we initiate a twitter account for EB KSA?

Salman Omrani

sigh

This is actually just a thread where people can 'meet' other people to arrange get-togethers and doesn't have to be mixed, justsomegirl :)  There's some great women participating in this forum, lots of fun (although I do agree segregated parties are somewhat of a drag).
