Hi,

when settling in a new country, working parents are mostly concerned about finding child care services for their children.

What can you share with us about the child care system In Marrakech ?

How much is daycare In Marrakech?

Is the staff qualified at these daycare centers?

What are the usual opening hours?

Do they provide other services at the daycare center?

Any daycare center In Marrakech you would like to recommend to other expats? What makes them special?

Thank you for participating! :)

Other than services that the hotels offer their guests; and specialized kindergartens such as the Montessori School program, I am not aware of any formal daycare centers. From what I understand; people with small children who need childcare usually hire a private nanny to come for a few hour a day (many international nurses and teachers also do this kind of work). Another option is to hire a local person as a live-in domestic house-keeper that will cook, clean, and watch the kids after school. Both options are not terribly expensive and are about the same or less than the cost of an average daycare center costs in America or Europe. Be very careful to ensure anyone that you hire to work for you is of age (16 years), and if they are not a Moroccan, that you get them their proper work permits. Be aware Morocco has just passed a strict new anti-child labor law focusing on domestic workers.
