Hi all,

I have read many threads on this site and can say that I have a fairly good knowledge of Mauritius by now.

I have been selected for a job in Mauritius and they are in the process of preparing an offer letter.

I would like to ask what allowances are given to an expat worker in Mauritius. Currently I am working in Dubai and receive the following from my current employer:

1) Basic Salary
2) Housing Allowance (25% of Basic Salary)
3) Transportation Allowance (varies between companies)
4) Children education plan
5) Medical coverage of entire family (my wife, my kids and myself)
6) Annual paid vacation of 30 days
7) Ticket to home country for the entire family.
8) End of Service Benefits (paid at the end of contract)

Are all these covered when working in Mauritius for a good/average company?

Should I be asking them for something which is really specific to Mauritius?

You input will be of a great value to me.

Thanks to Julien for making expat life so easy with this site.

Regards

Julien

All contracts are different and it is very difficult to say if you'll get the same package here. 6-7-8 might be complicated to get.

Something really specific? I can't see ...
