Teaching in Japan!

Warrior

Hi everyone,

There is a possibility that I may move away for work next year. I have come across a possible offer in Japan and was wondering if anyone could offer advise. I will be going if decide too and get accepted teaching English to kids.

I've never been to Japan and unfortunately can't speak Japanese :(

One of the questions I have is which city in Japan would it be better to work in? The choices are: Kanagawa, Chiba and Kyushu.

Also I'd love to hear about people who have had experiences of teaching in Japan and the advantages and disadvantages.

Also I'd love to just make friends :)

Thank-you all!

hi Warrior,
i just check their website & cant really predict anything for now.I will advice you to apply first & when the work contract is sent to view and decide if u will take up the job or not. let me have a copy. Its the contract that determine if u will be taking the offer or not? Just be aware there are many con agent out there who uses teacher 4 overtime, paid less etc & dnt want u to pass thru what many esl teacher went thru.  we can communicate via email " sindisiwebrenda@yahoo.com". enjoy your day

There is absolutely no need whatsoever to use a recruiter to get a teaching job in Japan. Apply directly to the employers.

There is also no way to tell you which city is "better". You have to describe what you want out of the experience here, and what climate you can tolerate/not tolerate, etc.  (P.S. Kyushu is not a city.)

Go to the ESL Cafe for nothing but teachers giving advice.
