Hi I just arrived in Doha, I would like to know how I go about getting a licence here, I have a licence in My home country.

hi ,, u just need to go licence school ,, and i think u have pay around QR 1300 for 15 days ... aftr u have to give exams thn u can get ur licence ,,,
and u need to give them

Provide a letter from the sponsor
Passport + copy
Sponsor's ID card copy,
Provide (3) recent colored photos

I came to know that the provision of a letter from the sponsor has now been cancelled/exempted recently to get a Driving License in Qatar

I did not need to do a test, just transfered my licence from SA to Qatari Licence...

If you have a driving license from UK, Germany, Canada, UAE or Australia, you can transfer it into Qatari driving license directly.

I also just transfered, so with South African Licences too would you also be able to transfer if you have a licence back home.
