Apartment near South China Normal University

TVbites

Hi all. Myself and a group of other Irish (postgraduate) students are going to study in South China Normal University for 5 months starting around the 20th of February. Unfortunately our on campus accomodation fell through at the last minute, does anyone know where one would find a reasonably priced 4 bedroom apartment around there? We're fairly desperate to secure something before we go so any advice would be greatly appreciated. One or two subway stops away would be acceptable.

What is reasonably priced to you and how far would you be willing to travel for a good price? =) Bring on the Irish! hehehe. :)

It is said that South China Normal University has three campuses, Shipai (Zhongshan Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou), Daxue Cheng or University/College Cluster (Xiaoguwei, Panyu District, Guangzhou) and Nanhai (Danzao, Nanhai District, Foshan). I think you should first verify with your contacts in the university the specific location of the site for your research or study activities. It will take you one hour or two hours or more to travel from Foshan to Guangzhou. Panyu District is also quite some distance from Tianhe District.

I think the best way is to secure dorm rooms in the university first before you consider moving to another place. Another option is to search for apartments online. Expat-blog, Locanto (www.locanto.com), Echinacities (www.echinacities.com) or Gabinohome (www.gabinohome.com).

Good luck!
