2 tax questions
1. are payroll taxes paid by employers recouped or added to employees paychecks?
2. In the US we pay 7-12% (additional federal, state, local tax) at every transaction such as groceries, tools, fast-food, household items and any repair work (cars, home ect.)in addition to annual federal/state taxes. Do Aussies pay a simmilar tax on these everyday transactions? Thank you.

I know it wasn't specifically asked or mentioned, so maybe you already know, but federal income taxes are deducted out of each paycheck.  There is no state income tax.
