Can a foreign national get a S. African driving license?

I am not asking if it is possible to swap an existing foreign license for a S. African one but can a foreigner learn to drive in S.Africa and take the driving test.

If yes, what please is the procedure and is a specific visa status needed?

can it be done on a Tourist Visa, work visa?

Hi.

Yes you can get a drivers license as a non S.A. citezen. I am not sure about the specifics though, maybe you should contact the traffic department and get it from the horses mouth.
