Hi all,

We invite all the ones who got married in the East Timor or who are about to get married in the East Timor to participate in this thread

What are the formalities to get married in the East Timor? Is it the same for a couple of foreigners of for a mixed couple (between a foreigner and a native of East Timor)?

Are the procedures complicated?

How long does it take to carry out all the formalities?

I am looking for almost this exact info. I know what is needed/required in Indonesia but can't find out about E. Timor. I'm looking for what would have been required in 2002. The man is/was from USA (was working there at the time) and the girl was/is from Bali. He has been back in USA since early 2004 and she has been back in Bali since that time, too. Any info will be appreciated. Thank you..
