TEFL in Malta

Am thinking of doing the TEFL (teaching English as a Foreign Language) course before we come over. Does anyone know what the availability is like for this kind of work?

I would be interested in this subject as well as it is something that we have considered before moving out to Malta.

Hi,

the answer is summer yes , winter probably no jobs.

If possible try for the CELTA degree. Foreign language students (and schools) love native English speakers ( please do not think that Maltese in general are native English speakers - they learn it at school like any other 'foreigner' and speak Maltese otherwise).

In fact most foreign students are very dissapointed that they do not hear much English spoken in everyday life as compared to the UK.

Salaries are around 10 /hour but preparation time for lessons is not paid so effectivly you are earning less.
