Hi, you didn't reply to my last question: how long will last your internship ?

What is an "intern which umbrella" ?

Peteradam

Many thanks for the reply regarding the Internet Julien.

Can I ask another one: do you happen to know if one can bring one's own car to Mauritius without paying import duties? If not, do you happen to know what the import duty is on bringing one's own car (for personal use)?

Many thanks for your kind help

Adam

Adam > could you please start a new discussion instead of posting on other threads? thanks ;)

(you can't import a car without paying)

sorry julien, the internship will last for a year.am worried about not getting the minimum pay cos an intern here says he earns less than that so wot i want to know is if there exist a different wage rate for foreign interns. thank you

Julien

is the current intern Mauritian? would you work for a private company ? could you please give more details?

I don't think there is any legal pay for interns but there is a minimum legal pay if you're working for a private company.

I think you should contact the BOI, they'll provide you all the legal advice.

sunnyvee

yes julien, i would be working for a private company. i dont know for a fact whether or not that intern is Mauritian. could u tell me the minimum legal pay for a private company anyway, thanx:)

sunnyvee

so sorry for bothering you guys! i wont be taking up the internship offer afterall bcos the pay is unbelievable!guess how much they say they're gonna pay 150-200 Euros.i'm shocked! out of curiosity, how much would that have been in MUR anyway?once again, thank you all

Julien

I think there is a problem somewhere, as the legal minimum pay to get an occupation permit as a professional is 30,000 rs (800 euros). please contact the BOI (you'll find the address in my previous post) to find out more ...
