Young people in Guangzhou?!

Hi, I'm a 23 year old English teacher. Was wondering if there are any other 20 - 30 year old expats in Guangzhou? Would be good to know bars and clubs where the younger people hang out and make some friends here!
Lizzie
Sadly I'm a little over the 30 years age group (only by 2 years!), but since I spend most of my life in GZ out and about, I'll give you some recommendations for places to go.
I recommend Paddyfield and Hooleys Irish pubs for meeting people and chatting away with strangers, and C:Union as a very cool chilled place to hang out - usually a live band, and pool table/table football/cheap drinks means a mad crowd getting even madder (generally a pre club place too).
Club wise - hmmm, Bound is brand new and popular as hell (for now) down on Yanjiang Road next door to 1920 German pub, Cellar used to be the cool cool place, not been in ages, and the other big club is New Era on Zhongshan 5 Road (I think) which is massive. Not sure which is my favourite, since I generally have few memories of any of them, but I think New Era tips it.
Addresses for all these places are easy to find on the net.
Enjoy!
I'm new to GZ too and have been looking for places to head out :-) Thanks for the advice - will definitely be checking them out!
Thanks for the advice. I didn't mean to be so specific about age! More like 20/30 ISH
Looks like Rachael and I willbe hitting those bars this weekend... where to start?
Lol, course it counts!! Didn't mean to be discriminatory with the age criteria - it was just a rough ball park figure!
How long you been in GZ?
hey guys!!
well i was just wondering how is it going for you in GZ ?? I see you guys have already been there for atleast a month ??
I am considering taking an internship offer in GZ starting January 2010 for 6 month so I would really like to hear your feedback about the city ?? transportation ? nightlife ? shopping ? foreigners ? Gym facilities ?
Thank you
Hey.. I am an old asian lady not too into clubbing but if you are going to chill out. I would really like to make some new friends! Getting very bored in GZ.
heyy,
I just moved to Gz last month from the U.S. I am looking to meet new people and to go out...Oh, I am 22. So yeah, let's go out.
I'm also getting bored here... i paid a visit to some "Clubs", but got annoyed by just another loud place with escort service or even hookers. I'm from Germany, so i'm used just to meet some friends to have a nice talk and some drinks. Disco, oc, is nice from time to time as well, but its more like party than making some friends.
I'll keep an eye on this topic.
GZ is famous for its foods. You can eat various nice foods, e.g. Cantonese, Hunan, Sichan, Northeast China, Japanese, Indian, Vietnam or Agentina. Talking about bars in GZ, I am not familiar with that as I seldom go there. I seldom drink. But I like sing in KTV. Anybody interested please feel free to let me know. I would be happy to sing with. Other entertainments like taking boating in Peal River, and play basketball at Tianhe Sport Center... so many!

I am Simon, a local guy, 27yrs.
I dream, someday, we don't even need to speak english, though I could. Nice to meet you guys...
we can settle a time and place to meet up. Or we can leave our msn in here for instant group discussion. Otherwise, it will be a endless discussion for nothing.
